Ireland captain O’Mahony hints at retirement after winning Six Nations

Munster back row makes shock revelation after win over Scotland retains title

Ireland captain Peter O’Mahony has hinted at a shock retirement following the win against Scotland, which saw his side claim the Six Nations title for the second year running.
The back-rower confirmed he is considering stepping away from the international game despite no hint he would do so in the pre-match build-up.
“I don’t know, I’ve a few chats to have with family and stuff over the next couple of weeks. If it was my last one it’s not a bad one to go out on, you know?” O’Mahony said.
Munster stalwart O’Mahony has won over 100 caps for his country and also captained the British and Irish Lions in the opening Test of the 2017 series.

The 34-year-old has won five Six Nations titles after Saturday’s result, including two Grand Slams.
O’Mahony was named Ireland captain after Johnny Sexton’s retirement following last year’s World Cup campaign.
